THE DOCTRINE OF HISTORY Webster's 1828 dictionary defines History as, "the matter of record." It is an account of facts, particularly those facts with respect to nations and peoples. History consists of the "annals" and events of time, in the order in which they happen, with their causes and effects. Although there are many categories of History, such as political, social, ecclesiastic, personal, military, and law, all History is ordained and orchestrated by God. Whatsoever the LORD pleased, [that] did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.
(Psalms 135:6 AV)
History is not a random sequence of events. It is not a series of facts and dates without regard to a purpose from the authority of the Sovereign Creator. Yet, this is precisely what the pagan education system would have children believe. Once History is taught without regard to the Sovereign Plan of the Sovereign God, History becomes meaningless. Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where [is] the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk [therein]. (Jeremiah 6:16 AV) RA
