ACCOUNTABILITY TO NONE
The real question is “Why?” For what end or purpose does the present
education system continue to suppress the True Christian faith? The answer lies
in “accountability”. Naturally, fallen man wants to be God. As Adam ate from
the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, so too does mankind desire to eat of
that Tree, that he may be “wise” and “like God“. Man desires to be a law
unto himself with all moral reality subject to his changing lusts. If God and
His Laws can be erased, and a new set of “laws” be established, then mankind
will be as God, determining what is good and what is evil.
The problem arises when mankind uses their natural depraved mind, apart from
the Wisdom of God (His Spirit and His Law) to make decisions. Whenever God and
His Laws are despised, and man’s laws are set up as idols in its place, there
is serious consequence.
Christian parents need to re-think their priorities concerning their
children, and not allow situation or circumstance to dictate their actions as to
the education of their children.
Dr. Rush concludes his thesis with the following,
“In contemplating the political institutions of the United States, I
lament, that we waste so much time and money in punishing crimes, and take so
little pains to prevent them. We profess to be Republicans, and yet we neglect
the only means of establishing and perpetuating our republican forms of
government, that is, the universal education of our youth in the principles of
Christianity, by means of the Bible; for this Divine Book, above all others,
favors that equality among mankind, that respect for just laws, and all those
sober and frugal virtues, which constitute the soul of republicanism.”
